Royal Academy of Engineering and Airbus Professor of Aero-Structure Design at Cranfield University and head of the Integrated Systems Department.

In 1997 he founded the Robotics Research Group at the University of Nottingham and developed it into an internationally known group with a particular reputation for aerospace work. Its collaborators included Airbus UK, Bombardier Aerospace and Rolls-Royce.

The research team he has established at Cranfield has 14 members of whom 5 have a psychology and human factors background supporting innovative research work on the interaction of humans, robots and automation in an industrial environment.
